The Tram is dead. Long live the Tram!
After a year of speculation as to what (if anything) was going to replace iconic Tram after it closes this year, the resort has that it will replace it with a new tram. The new tram will have roughly twice the uphill capacity of the old, and is slated to begin service in December 2008. The tram rises directly from the base of the resort to the summit, a single 4,139' vertical trip, the longest of any lift in North America, and has a special place in the hearts of local skiers/snowboarders.

In the meantime (the next two seasons) they will be running a double chair called the to the summit. Our GPS map has been updated with the change.
