| Samsung Q1 Origami at CeBIT |
GPS Tracklog recently suggested that Origami, otherwise known as UMPC, Microsoft's prototype Tablet/Pocket PC hybrid, might have GPS capabilities. Today Engadget got their hands on an actual Samsung Q1 Origami unit at the CeBIT trade show.
They were clearly underwhelmed by it, finding it not that different from a current Tablet PC, just a little smaller, and the GPS is mentioned as being an "external peripheral", which could be something as ordinary as a standard Bluetooth receiver unit. It's without a doubt no "nuvi-killer".
Still, "V1" of a new platform is often disappointing, while a V1.1 or V2 is truly cool, so fingers crossed for 2007 at least.
