SnowRanger GPS ski resort trail maps can now be loaded onto GPS-enabled smartphones from Samsung, Nokia, Motorola, Palm, HTC and a host of others that run the Windows Mobile, Palm or Symbian operating systems. The piece of software that enables this is Garmin Mobile XT which effectively turns your phone into a full featured Garmin nüvi style navigator, and includes full street maps and features such as real-time traffic avoidance and current gas prices. SnowRanger installs into Mobile XT in much the same way as it does on dedicated Garmin GPSes, and we've prepared detailed instructions on how to do it. Garmin Mobile XT is not available for the Apple iPhone at this time, and SnowRanger has not been confirmed yet to be compatible with the Blackberry version of Mobile XT.
