Heavy snow good for skiers, bad for bark beetles
Heavy snows this winter across much of the West have not just been a bonanza for skiers/riders and resort operators.

The that the US Forest Service is expecting much lower activity from the damaging bark beetle this year due to the extra moisture creating much more pitch in trees.

But there's plenty for us skiers/riders too, with pushing closing dates out later in April and even into May.
