| Garmin Dakota: the new Ultimate Ski GPS |
Packing nearly all the features of the brilliant Garmin Oregon into a smaller, more pocketable package with a longer battery life, the brand new Garmin Dakota GPS series has looked like a winner since we first heard about it. Now the user reviews are starting to come in, and it's clear that this is the GPS to buy this ski season.
Maps and GPS expert Rich Owings over at GPSTracklog.com really knows what he is saying when he says in his review that "The Dakota is a great choice for hikers, bikers, geocachers and just about any other category of handheld users."
We don't have it in our GPS store yet, but Amazon.com has the Dakota 10 and Dakota 20 available now.
You can put our SnowRanger GPS ski resort maps on memory card into the Dakota 20 today. The Dakota 10 does not have a memory card slot, but has ample memory to download maps from our soon-to-be-released MapSource CD-ROM version of SnowRanger. Both models will get a couple of days of typical use before recharging/replacing the batteries, and can be easily connected to your PC to upload your GPS tracks to our Snow Days stats and tracks service.
