GPS with audio prompts
The ADEO from is a workout-oriented GPS receiver with a twist: a audio feed of your workout progress. You plug your MP3 player and headphones into the ADEO, and it puts voice-overs onto the music stream to report your speed and distance. loved the concept but weren't impressed with the execution, cited such issues as there being no screen and it taking as long as 30 minutes (!) to initially lock-on to satellites, and taking several minutes on each subsequent power-on.

Ski Magazine also mentioned it on their current print edition, as its speed information could be fun to receive while you are in motion. It's not clear whether you can pull the track log off the unit as a GPX to overlay onto SnowRanger, Google Earth, or other maps.
